About AstraName
AstraName is a star naming gift service for the U.S. market. We let you dedicate a real star to someone - for a birthday, a wedding, a new baby, or in memory of a loved one - and turn that dedication into a personalized certificate, a star map, and a permanent online star page.
Where Our Stars Come From
Every star in our star registry is a real, documented star drawn from the public HR (Harvard Revised) and HD (Henry Draper) astronomical catalogs - you can search registered stars in the star database. Each certificate carries the star's actual catalog designation and its RA/Dec sky coordinates, so the star you dedicate can be located with a star map, an astronomy app, or a telescope.
We are upfront about what a star dedication is: a symbolic gesture recorded in our private registry. Only the International Astronomical Union (IAU) names stars in scientific catalogs, and it does not sell names - no company can. What You Get
Every star gift includes registration in the AstraName star registry, a personalized certificate with the recipient's name, dedication date, and a personal message, plus a permanent star page at its own URL. Depending on the package, the gift is delivered as instant digital files or as a printed keepsake - up to a framed certificate in a presentation gift box. Printed packages ship free within the United States via tracked USPS Priority Mail.
How We Work
Digital orders are generated and emailed within minutes of checkout. Printed orders are prepared within 1-3 business days and shipped from the U.S. with tracking. Payments are processed by Stripe and PayPal - we never store card details.
